Production -- Day Four!

It's hard to believe but, in the span of such a short time, we've already nailed down over -- count 'em! -- 100 set ups for this film!

But, the pressure is on to finish everything and get what we need as we are about to wrap Day Four and there are still things we need to get.

My main concern after really watching everything is getting enough insert shots. DO we have those things we'll need to cutaway to, use for segues, transition shots, etc.?

Only time will tell, but I do feel good about things.

We have alot of exterior stuff to get, but it isn't full of action or character, it's alot of "house with the lights all on" and "house with lights off." Then there is "car driving down the driveway." All that type of stuff, but the setups to light the house and the outside are taking a long time.

I think we might have also missed the chance to get a shot of what our character is looking at when she creeps outside, worried. We'll have to see if it got shot or if we need to cull from somewhere else in the film though the magic of editing.

The best thing about this whole process if the orchestration of everything. Anthony did so much behind the scenes/below the line work, it was incredible. He really was our de facto production manager; which is fine by me. He had such a handle on it, I'm like, "just let me help choose the crew and you can go with (whatever higher entity he believes in) and get them on board.

I forgot to mention that most of the deal memos and such generated form our office. I spent many an hour combing through deals and legalese to craft things that made sense, protected us and our interests...but, also protect our crew and stars. it was important that everyone feels they got a fair shake in this and that everyone involved enjoyed being part of this.

So far, it seems they have.

There haven't really been any problems, ave for the crew forgetting to put heavy, dirty, sharply damaging equipment on mats so as to not ruin the location's floor (a particular sticking point with me; aside form being incredibly high-maintenance about things like that, we don't want to ruin the house we're shooting at. Not on this budget!

But, aside from a few gentle reminders (from me) and some not so gentle reminders (from our 1st AD), things are moving along well and the footage looks great.

Tonight I even went over some of it with the guy who is in charge of monitoring and capturing all of it. We chose some stills and they look great.

All right, it's time for us to wrap this day. The sun is up, we're getting the final scene of the night/day in the can and everyone is pretty much in a daze as the scene unfolds; it's a good, interesting telephone conversation, but it appears as though everyone is wiped out and can only think of one thing: going to sleep...after getting it all done right, of course.

That being said, for Anthony and I it's time to prep for the final night of shooting!
